Configuring Netscape 7.0 (POP)
1. Start Netscape. Select the Mail & Newsgroups option from the Window drop down menu as shown below.
2. You will be taken to the Account Wizard 3. Select Email account and click Next
4. Please complete the Your Name text field 5. Enter your Email Address (andromeda.rutgers.edu or pegasus.rutgers.edu if you are a student) 6. Click Next
7. At the Server Information screen select IMAP and fill in Incoming Server to andromeda.rutgers.edu or pegasus.rutgers.edu
8. In the User Name field type in your assigned NetId for this account 9. Click Next
10. Enter the name by which you would like to refer to this account in the Account Name field.( for example., “work, “home”) 11. Click Next
12. Verify all information is correct and click Finish.
13. Select Server Settings located under your account name in the left pane of the Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings window 14. Check the Use secure connection (SSL) box under the Server Setting section is checked. Other settings in this window can be personalized to fit your work style. 15. Change the Port: to 995.
16. In the left-hand pane of the Mail & Newsgroups account settings window, click Outgoing Server (SMTP) 17. Click the Always button under Use secure connection (SSL) 18. Change Port to 25. 19. Click OK 20. Click File and then Exit to exit Netscape. Netscape will need to be restarted before changes will be applied. Close all components of Netscape (the browser, email program, etc.) 21. Restart Netscape.
