Your computer is a valuable asset that can be made inoperable by a virus, worm, or vulnerability. And, your exploited computer can propagate these attacks to other computers on the network.

You are responsible to operate and manage your computer in a safe and secure manner. These responsibilities include:

 
  • Install a virus protection on your local computer
  • Daily update your virus protection software
  • Scan all incoming email for viruses
  • Update your windows operating system with the latest patches
  • Install a firewall on your local computer

Antivirus Software

Rutgers University offers Trend Micro Anti-virus software free to all Rutgers faculty, staff and students. The software is available in the two versions, RADS or Enterprise. The RADS version is the recommend version.
