Enable SMTP Authentication for Netscape 7.2

1. Start Netscape then click on Edit.

2. Then click "Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings" as shown below.

3. Click on "Outgoing Server (SMTP)", then click on the account you wish to change. Type andromeda.rutgers.edu into the server name box.

4. Check the "Use name and password" check box and type your email address into the User Name text box.

5. Click the "SSL" radio button, and then click the OK button.

We recommend that you completely exit Netscape for the changes to take affect.

After enabling SMTP Authentication you will be prompted to enter your password the first time you send an email for each session (e.g., if you leave your Netscape client open all day, you will be prompted for your password for outbound email once a day.)
