The Campus Web Server provides web, secure web (https), ssh, sftp, MySQL. The Campus Web Server does not provide email accounts. You may login directly to the machine via SSH.   Web pages and scripts can be uploaded via SFTP, SCP, or Web Drive.

     Access and Logging In

You must belong to a Rutgers Newark department and request a departmental account on the Campus Web Server.   To request an account please fill out following form and indicate type of account to be a Campus Web Server account. Submit this form to the Director of Computing Services for approval. You can log into the campus web server using any SSH or SFTP client such as those featured at http://secure.newark.rutgers.edu

The hostname of the Campus Web Server hostname is: www.newark.rutgers.edu or nwk-web.rutgers.edu

      Storing Web Pages

Any files, such as index.html, that you would like web accessible must be uploaded to:   /www/campus/DEPTNAME/public_html where DEPTNAME is the departmental account name.

Your default URL will be: http://www.newark.rutgers.edu/~DEPTNAME

You may request a custom URL. For example:
http://www.DEPTNAME.newark.rutgers.edu or http://DEPTNAME.nwk-web.rutgers.edu
